TikTok’s U.S. future: “framework” deal — but still fluid The U.S. and China said Monday (Sept 15) they’ve reached a framework to shift TikTok to U.S.-controlled ownership; Trump said Thursday (Sept 18) China “sounds like” it approved, yet Friday reports note lingering uncertainty after a Trump–Xi call. Translation: ads likely continue, but ownership/controls could change.
Meta Connect 2025: smart-glasses push (Ray-Ban Display at $799) Meta unveiled three new AI smart-glasses lines this week, headlined by Ray-Ban “Display” glasses (U.S. availability starting Sept 30). Hardware hiccups aside, Meta is clearly setting up more camera-forward, hands-free creation and future ad/commerce surfaces.
YouTube puts Google’s Veo 3 AI video generator into Shorts Creators can now turn text prompts into 8-second, sound-backed vertical clips directly in the app; AI videos are labeled/watermarked. Expect a wave of ultra-quick concepting and meme-able Shorts. |
