RIP Xandr

  • Microsoft Advertising is closing its demand-side platform, with the online giant informing clients the ad tech unit no longer aligns with its AI priorities.

YT Tests "Peak Point" Ads

  • Gemini, Google’s AI, can identify parts of videos where viewer attention is at its highest, such as emotionally impactful moments, and suggest placing an ad after it, just as viewers are the most invested.

    • This could be a welcome boost to Creators and Advertisers, but less so for viewers

 Device Targeting for PMax

  • Another modest improvement in a series of updates to everyone's least favorite campaign format. Every increase in visibility and control is a step in the right direction, but PMax remains a black box.

Walmart Raising Prices

  • Walmart is raising prices due to tariffs despite the recent temporary reduction in tariffs. Prices are set to increase as soon as the end of the month.

  • This is a notable change both because Walmart is the world's largest retailer (better positioned to weather the storm than most) and previous statements indicating their expectation to limit price hikes.
